Fool's Gold

You painted this breathtaking portrait that blinded me,

But I can see through the lies that you tried to speak. 

I thought that you would completely devote yourself,

I was wrong when I realized you had quite a good story to tell. 

As the days passed me by, you continued to prove you would do me wrong,

Now I am able to view where you do not belong. 

That is, by my side, since we have now become separated,

But no worries, I know that my heart has been liberated. 

It might take some time but you'll see where this went awry,

There will be no tears forming because I refuse to cry. 

And now I say farewell to someone who's heart has turned cold,

I am able to see the true feelings that has surrounded this fool's gold.

If Only

You go through times in your life where you get to thinking,

"If only I had done things that way, then my "life" boat wouldn't be sinking."

But you must always keep an important thought in your mind,

And that is that all you have experienced will become better over time.

It might not seem that circumstances are going to change,

You just have to believe that your mixed life puzzle will be rearranged. 

Now, if only these better times would come much faster,

You'd be able to go through any battle that comes your way & be crowned master. 

No need to worry yourself so much over the struggles you have encountered,

As time goes by, your thoughts & feelings will have matured.

To where you will absolutely know that all you have seen was worth the risk,

Because in the end of it all, you will acknowledge that no one is perfect.
