The Ticking Clock

The clock goes forward when it comes to time,

But the memories just keep on repeating in my mind.

Not looking back and regretting what’s happened,

Surprised I’m still able to get to this spot after all the crying and laughing. 

There were some good times that had been experienced 

Still, I can’t help but think of the ones that held me back with bad feelings.

The trains getting to the next stop but am I going to be ready?

I’m trying to keep my head up, making sure I’m walking steady.

Those who don’t understand will not have their arms open,

But still, be prepared for that one before the door closes.

Life’s Path

Round and round in circles I’m trying to follow my feet,

Can’t keep my eyes off the ground, I’m not sure where they will lead. 

Every year, I present myself with the same pressing question,

“Will this be the time when I could finally stop guessing?”

Where am I supposed to be going at this time?

So many answers I’m looking for that I just can’t find. 

It’s okay to be a bit frustrated not knowing where the road goes,

One day the answers will become clearer and unfold. 

Warriors must always remember it will not be easy,

I must keep my head up & continue believing

That it will all come out the way it’s meant to be,

It’ll all work out to what’s best for me.
